Do you want an alternative to a bridge or dentures to replace lost teeth? Dental implants, artificial roots for replacement teeth, provide a secure, long term replacement for missing teeth. With implants you can wear a crown or implant supported denture and be confident your replacement teeth will remain for a long time.
When we place implants we examine your mouth first to find the best location. Because the implants need strong bone tissue for proper support, we try to place them in areas where your bone is dense and healthy. Once a location is found we’ll surgically place the implant into your jawbone and leave it to heal so your bone tissue can integrate with the implant and strengthen it. Once the implant is strong enough to support replacement teeth we will either use it alone as the foundation for a crown for a single missing tooth, or with one or more other dentures to hold an implant-supported denture.
Implants are designed to last a very long time, but they require cleaning and care just like normal teeth. You will need to brush and floss around your implant and have it checked regularly as part of your normal dental examination.
